Set Date, Time, and Decimal Formats

DMS  provides the ability to set the date, time, and decimal values in various format. This helps the users to view the values in their respective regional format. The date, time, and decimal values vary in formats from one region to another. Some regions may have more than one format too. Hence, the My Preference tab allows you to set the date, time, and decimal format based on your preference.

The following table lists the formats supported in the application:

Notes:
  • If a user is unable to set the format in the application, then the fallback format is appended from the tenant level.
  • If the format is unavailable in the tenant, then the fallback format is appended from ecosystem.config file. The following are the default formats:
    • systemDefaultDateFormat : 'MM/dd/yyyy',
    • systemDefaultTimeFormat: 'hh:mm:ss',
    • systemDefaultDecimalSeparator: '.'
  • The application displays the number formats based on the selection of decimal separators in User Preferences.
  • When excel sheets are imported or exported from the application, the number formats reflecting in the sheets depend on the system regional settings irrespective of the settings in User Preferences. In case you find difference in the number format in the UI / excel sheet, you can change the format in the system regional settings.

To set date, time, and decimal formats:

  1. On the application header, click User Profile.

    Result: The User Preferences popup is displayed.

  1. Click My Settings.

Result: The My Preferences dialog box is displayed.

  1. Select the following:
  • Date Format - yyyy-M-d
  • Time format - 24-hour
  • Decimal Separator - Decimal Comma

If you select 24 hour time format, then both AM and PM are not displayed in the Time Format dialog box.

  1. Click Save.

    Result: A confirmation message Data saved is displayed. Reload the application to view the changes.
