Create a new saved search

You can create new saved search for entities, assets, and reference data and share these searches with other users.

To create a new saved search for entities:

  1. On the navigation menu, click Search > Search Thing Domain app.

    Result: The Search page is displayed.

  2. Enter the keyword and press Enter.

    Result: A list of entities matching the keyword is displayed.

  3. Click the app title drop-down.

    Result: The Saved Searches pop-up window is displayed.

  1. Click Create or Edit Saved Search.

    Result: The Create or Edit Saved Search pop-up is displayed.

  1. Enter the New Saved Search Name.

  1. Select Only me, All others with my role, or Everybody checkbox based on your requirement.
    • Only me: This saved search is displayed only for you in the My Search tab.
    • All others with my role: This saved search is visible to all the other users with the same role in the Shared Search Results tab. If you favorite the saved search, it is displayed in Favorites tab and My Search tab.
    • Everybody: This saved search is visible to other users in the Shared Search Results tab and My Search tab for you. If you have favorited the saved search, then it is displayed in the Favorites tab and in My Search tab.
Notes:
  • Other users do not have permission to edit your saved searches when they are shared.
  • At any point of time if you wish to view the records that are part of the saved search, click on the Saved Search to display the Search page with the saved search results.

  1. Click Save to save the search criteria.

    Result: A confirmation message "Saved Search name saved" is displayed.

  2. Refresh your browser to view the saved search.

    Result: The saved search is displayed in My Search or Shared Search Results tab based on the option that you have selected while creating a search.

Common Actions via Saved Search

You can perform the common actions upon creating a new scope or on the existing scope in Favorites, My Scope Selection(s), and Shared Scope Selection(s) tabs.

Favorites By default, the Favorite tab is displayed with a list of saved searches that are favorited.
• Click the star-icon1 icon to remove the saved search as your favorite.
Result: The unfavorited saved search remains in Shared Search Results tab or My Search tab.		 Click the delete-icon3 icon to delete the saved search.
Result: A confirmation message "Saved Search name deleted" is displayed and the saved search will not be displayed in Shared Search Results or My Search tab.		 The edit icon is enabled only after a saved search is created or for an existing saved search.
Result: The selected attributes and relationships that are part of the search is loaded.
• Add or remove the attributes and relationships or edit the name and permissions as per the requirement and click Save.
My Search By default, My Search tab is not displayed and all the saved searches displayed in this tab are not favorited.
• Click the star-icon1 icon to favorite your saved search.
Result: A confirmation message "Saved Search name is added to Favorites" is displayed. The favorited saved search is displayed in the Favorites tab.		 Click the delete-icon3 icon to delete the saved search from the list.
Result: A confirmation message "Saved Search name deleted" is displayed.
If you have favorited the saved search, it is also deleted from the Favorites tab.		 The edit icon is enabled only after a saved search is created or for an existing saved search.
Result: The selected attributes and relationships that are part of the scope is loaded.
• Add or remove the attributes and relationships or edit the name and permissions as per the requirement and click Save.
Shared Searched Results By default, the Shared Searched Results tab is not displayed and all the shared searches that are displayed in this tab are not favorited.
• Click the star-icon1 icon to display the shared searched results in the Favorites tab.
Result: A confirmation message "Saved Search name is added to Favorites" is displayed. The favorited saved search is displayed in the Favorites tab.		 Click the delete-icon3 icon to delete the shared search results from the list.
Result: A confirmation message "Saved Search name deleted" is displayed.
If you have favorited the saved search, it is also deleted from the Favorites tab. This icon is enabled only when you have created a saved search and shared it with other users or roles.		 The edit icon is enabled only after a saved search is created or for an existing saved search.
Result: The selected attributes and relationships that are part of the scope is loaded.
• Add or remove the attributes and relationships or edit the name and permissions as per the requirement and click Save.
